YOUR PROJECT

Which version of English is your manuscript written in? (For example: U.S., U.K., Canadian, Australian, etc.) I am not an editor, but I do try to flag things I notice as I go. This just helps me avoid calling attention to words that may be correct for your region.
-
Enter the word count of the material you are submitting for this service. For a Hook Check, enter the word count of the opening chapters you are submitting. For a Chapter(s) Strategy Consult, enter the word count of the chapter(s) or section we’ll be working through.
-
Does this book belong to a series or universe I may not be familiar with? If so, please share any details that would help me understand the context.
-
Any additional information you want to share with me? Or areas of focus you're really concerned about?
-
Tell me what isn't working for you in this section, what you're trying to accomplish, and any specific questions or concerns you want us to focus on during the consultation.

SCOPE OF SERVICES - HOOK CHECK
$15 flat
Want to know if your book grabs readers right away?
I’ll read your opening chapters and share honest, constructive feedback on:
• How it pulled me in and what emotional impact it had
• Whether the pacing works for your genre
• If the characters pull me in and the premise is clear
A hook check consists of your first 3 chapters (up to 10,000 words).
You’re welcome to include up to 3 big-picture questions with your submission.
I’ll address them within your written feedback.
-
SCOPE OF SERVICES - BLURB REVIEW & REWRITE
$50 FLAT
Already have a blurb but keep staring at it wondering if it actually works?
I’ll read through what you have and give you my honest take on what is and is not quite working for me, and what I think the blurb should sound like based on the book you are trying to promote.
That may include:
• Strengthening the opening hook
• Making the premise and stakes clearer
• Making sure the genre, tone, and romance come through the way you want them to
• Shortening anything that feels too long or slow
• Cutting wording that feels vague, repetitive, or unnecessary
• Reworking sections that feel weaker
• Rewriting parts of the blurb, or the whole thing if I think a different approach would work better
You’ll get my feedback along with my version of the blurb so you can see exactly what I would do with it.
That does not mean my version is the one “right” way to write it. It is just my idea of what I think it should sound like based on the story, tone, and reader experience you are trying to sell. You can use all of it, pieces of it, or none of it if something does not feel like you.

SCOPE OF SERVICES - FULL BETA READ
$0.001 per word
Want to know what it is actually like to read your book?
I will read your full manuscript and share honest, constructive feedback focused on the overall reading experience. This service is reaction-based and reader-focused. As I read, I’ll leave margin comments with my thoughts, reactions, questions, and opinions in the places they naturally come up.
My feedback addresses:
• The emotional impact and how connected I feel to the characters
• Whether the pacing works for your genre
• Where my attention stayed strong or drifted
• How clearly the premise and stakes come through
• Moments where I felt confused, disconnected, surprised, invested, or especially pulled in
At the end, you’ll also receive an overall impression of the manuscript, including what stayed with me, what worked especially well, and where I struggled.
This is not a chapter-by-chapter breakdown or revision strategy package. I will tell you what worked for me, what did not, and where I became confused, disconnected, or less invested. The focus stays on my honest reactions as a reader rather than detailed guidance on how to revise the manuscript.
You may include up to 5 big-picture questions with your submission. I will address them within your written feedback.
Series Familiarization Read: If your project is part of a series and I need to read an earlier installment for context, a read-only familiarization pass may be added at $0.0005 per word. This does not include in-text comments or a feedback report.
-
SCOPE OF SERVICES - REVISION-FOCUSED BETA READ
$0.002 per word
Have a manuscript you're getting ready to revise and want another set of eyes on what might need attention?
Unlike my Full Beta Read, which focuses on the reader experience through in-margin reactions, questions, and opinions, this service takes a closer look at the story itself and where I believe improvements could be made.
Instead of commenting throughout the manuscript as I read, I'll provide a written report focusing on the issues I find. I'll explain what isn't working for me, why I think it's a problem, and what I believe could work better.
My feedback focuses on:
- Story structure and plot flow
- Character motivation and emotional development
- Pacing, tension, and momentum
- Worldbuilding clarity and consistency
- Differences between what you're trying to accomplish and what's actually coming across on the page
- Suggestions for strengthening areas that need attention
I only provide feedback where I believe it's needed. If a chapter is working well, I'm not going to write something about it just for the sake of having something to say. If the same problem comes up in multiple chapters, I'll address it together rather than repeat the same feedback over and over.
You may include up to 5 big-picture questions with your submission. I'll address them as part of my written feedback.
This service is intended to help you figure out what needs attention before your next round of revisions. It does not include ongoing in-margin reactions or the more extensive analysis provided with a Developmental Edit.
What this service does not include: In-margin reactions or commentary, chapter-by-chapter reports, line editing, proofreading, grammar correction, rewriting, or repeated rereading of revised material.
Series Familiarization Read: If your project is part of a series and I need to read an earlier installment for context, a read-only familiarization pass may be added at $0.0005 per word. This does not include in-text comments or a feedback report.
-
SCOPE OF SERVICES - CHAPTER(S) STRATEGY CONSULT
$100 per 10,000 words
For authors who need focused help strengthening or restructuring a specific section that is already written.
I will read the submitted chapter or short stretch of chapters, look at what is and is not working within that section, and help you work through the specific issue you are having with the pacing, characters, structure, emotional impact, or purpose of the scene.
This is ideal if a chapter feels off, a turning point is not having the impact you wanted, the pacing is dragging, a character choice does not feel convincing, an emotional moment needs more weight, or you are unsure how to restructure a specific portion of the manuscript.
How It Works:
• Review of up to 10,000 words
• A defined discussion window of 5 business days
• One consolidated email from you at a time
• Detailed responses from me within 2 business days
• Discussion focused on the submitted section and the problem you are trying to solve
• We may discuss restructuring the section, changing or moving scenes, strengthening a character’s reasoning, improving the pacing, or taking the section in another direction
This service includes reading the submitted section so I can understand what is already on the page and give you feedback based on the actual material. It does not include margin comments, line editing, proofreading, ongoing chapter-by-chapter review, or repeated rereading of revised versions.
Weekends and federal holidays do not count toward the discussion window.
The exchange concludes at the end of the selected period. Continued support requires booking another consultation or an Ongoing Story Consultation.
-
SCOPE OF SERVICES - ONGOING STORY CONSULTATION
Two Weeks - Six Months
For authors who want someone they can regularly talk through ideas, possibilities, and story problems with while they write.
This service gives you a place to bring the plot ideas, character questions, scene possibilities, twists, relationship decisions, and random “Would this work?” thoughts that come up while writing a book.
Maybe you know where the story needs to end but cannot figure out how to get there. Maybe you are choosing between two directions, trying to fix a plot problem, working through a character’s motivation, or wondering whether an idea makes sense with everything you have already established.
Throughout the consultation period, you’ll have unlimited email-based access to me for one active story project. You can email me as questions, ideas, and problems come up, and I’ll help you talk through the possibilities, point out issues you may not have considered, and decide which direction makes the most sense for your story.
Investment Options
Two Weeks — $300
One Month — $500
Six Months — $2,500 paid upfront
Book six consecutive months and receive the sixth month free.
How It Works
• Unlimited email-based story consultation throughout your selected period
• Unlimited back-and-forth discussion
• One active manuscript or story project
• One consolidated email from you at a time so I can give each question a full, thoughtful response
• Detailed responses from me within 2 business days
• Help with plots, characters, relationships, scenes, twists, stakes, pacing, structure, and revision ideas
• Short excerpts, summaries, outlines, or notes may be included when needed to explain your question
This service is for talking through ideas and figuring out where the story should go next. It does not include ongoing chapter-by-chapter reading, full manuscript review, margin comments, chapter diagnostics, line editing, proofreading, or repeated rereading of revised material.
You may include a short excerpt when I need to see what is actually on the page to understand your question, but substantial reading or feedback on a written section must be booked separately through a beta read or Chapter(s) Strategy Consult.
Weekends and federal holidays are not included in response timelines.
All consultation periods apply to one active story project. Six-month bookings cover six consecutive months.
The consultation ends at the end of your selected period. Continued support requires booking an additional two-week, one-month, or six-month consultation period.

SCOPE OF SERVICES - DEVELOPMENTAL STORY CONSULTATION
Monthly Ongoing Service
For authors who want ongoing feedback on new chapters and story material while they are actively writing.
This service gives you a place to send me new material as your manuscript develops so I can read along, react to what is happening on the page, and help you see how the story is coming together in real time.
Maybe you want to know whether a character choice feels believable, whether the pacing is working, whether a scene landed the way you intended, or whether something you introduced earlier is still holding together as the story grows.
Throughout the reading period, you can send me new chapters or sections as you write them. I’ll follow the manuscript as it develops, share my reactions and developmental feedback, point out places where something feels unclear or less effective, and help you identify issues involving character motivation, pacing, emotional impact, continuity, structure, or story direction.
Investment Options
Up to 10,000 words per month — $250
Up to 20,000 words per month — $350
Up to 30,000 words per month — $450
Up to 40,000 words per month — $550
Up to 50,000 words per month — $650
More than 50,000 words — Custom Pricing
How It Works
• One active manuscript or story project
• New chapters or sections may be submitted throughout the month
• Feedback is provided as new material is submitted
• Each submitted section is read once
• Feedback focuses on reader reaction, character development, pacing, emotional impact, clarity, continuity, structure, and overall story direction
• Questions about the submitted material may be included
• Follow-up discussion about my feedback and the submitted material is welcome
• Detailed responses from me within 2 business days
• Your selected monthly plan includes up to the listed word count of new material
This service is designed for authors who want someone following the manuscript as it is being written rather than waiting until the story is complete for a traditional beta read.
I will tell you what is working for me, where I became confused or disconnected, where something may need more attention, and where I believe the developing story could be stronger.
This is not the same as a Revision-Focused Beta Read or Chapter(s) Strategy Consult. I am not providing formal chapter diagnostics, a detailed restructuring plan for every submitted section, or a complete beta-style review of the manuscript. The focus is on following the story as it develops and giving you useful developmental feedback along the way.
Each chapter or section is read once. If you revise material based on my feedback, we can discuss the changes, and you may include a short excerpt when needed, but repeated full rereads of revised chapters or sections are not included.
This service does not include line editing, proofreading, margin comments throughout the manuscript, repeated rereading of revised material, or unlimited general story consultation unrelated to the material being submitted.
If you expect to exceed your selected monthly word count, please contact me before sending additional material so we can determine whether I have availability to accommodate it. Unused words do not roll over into future months.
Weekends and federal holidays are not included in response timelines.
All reading plans apply to one active story project and cover one month of service.
The reading arrangement ends at the end of the selected month or once the included word count has been reached.
Continued support requires booking an additional month.
